Weekly Update

Quilting:

I did a little work on Orphans & Scraps, a sew-along by Pam Buda of Heartspun Quilts.

I did some more work on Around the Town by Dawna Baker.

I did some more quilting on Batik Cascade (Batik Go-Round) by Karen Combs.

I did a little more work on Combination Star, the February installment of the Block of the Month series by Deanne Eisenman of Snuggles Quilts.  It looks like I'm going to miss the deadline on this one, but it's the last block and I'm not planning to finish the quilt right away, so no biggie.

Blackwork:

I did some more work on the Blackwork Chessboard by Anne MacGregor.

Cross Stitch:

I did some more work on Fish City which is adapted from artwork by Stewart Moskowitz.

Swedish Weaving:

I made some more progress on the Feathers To and Fro afghan from Learn to Make Monk’s Cloth Afghans by Marilyn T. Magly.

Crochet:

I crocheted 8 of the 14 squares needed for the 4th panel of the Morning Glory afghan designed by Michele Maks.  I also wove in the ends on 3 of them and sewed them together.

Knitting:

I finished the embroidery on the 2nd end panel of the Octopus Garden Blanket by Georgia Vincent.

Finishing:

Finally, I finished attaching the 3rd binding strip to Tech Support, a design by Linda Connors of Calico Crossroads®, adapted from the artwork of Kathleen Kelly of Kats by Kelly™ and pinned it in place so that I can sew it down to the back.

Weekly Update

Well, once again life got in the way and I haven't had time to post what I had done on Wednesday, but I did get the pictures taken.

But first, a little off-topic news: It kinda-sorta-almost snowed on Wednesday!

This may look like hail, but it's actually graupel which is a weird snow/hail hybrid. Occasionally the outlying areas of the Phoenix metro area will get snow, but it almost never happens where I live in Mesa, so this was pretty exciting. The last time I remember seeing anything resembling snow falling was around 20 years ago, and that was more like falling slush.

Quilting:

I did a little work on Orphans & Scraps, a sew-along by Pam Buda of Heartspun Quilts.

I did some more work on Around the Town by Dawna Baker.

I started quilting Batik Cascade (Batik Go-Round) by Karen Combs.  Since I'm stitching in the ditch the quilting is almost invisible on the front, so I'll be taking pictures of the back to show my progress. And, yes, I know my stitches are a mess on the back because I'm stab stitching without a hoop or frame, but I don't care.

I finally got started on Combination Star, the February installment of the Block of the Month series by Deanne Eisenman of Snuggles Quilts.  This is the last block.

Magly.

Crochet:

I finished the 3rd panel of the Morning Glory afghan designed by Michele Maks, sewed it to the other panels, and did the yellow cross stitches on the edge of the 2nd panel. There's one more panel, a strip of squares, and the border left.

Knitting:

I finished binding off the 2nd end panel of the Octopus Garden Blanket by Georgia Vincent and started the embroidery.

Finishing:

Finally, I finished stitching the 2nd binding strip to the back of Tech Support, a design by Linda Connors of Calico Crossroads®, adapted from the artwork of Kathleen Kelly of Kats by Kelly™ and started attaching the 3rd strip.

Weekly Update

Once again due to illness I didn't make all of my goals for this week; I didn't get anything done on any of my quilting projects.

Blackwork:

I did the border around that square on the Blackwork Chessboard by Anne MacGregor.

Cross Stitch:

I did some more work on Fish City which is adapted from artwork by Stewart Moskowitz.

Swedish Weaving:

I made a little progress on the Feathers To and Fro afghan from Learn to Make Monk’s Cloth Afghans by Marilyn T. Magly.

Crochet:

I did get quite a bit done on the Morning Glory afghan designed by Michele Maks. I finished all of the embroidery on the 3rd panel.

I also crocheted all of the flowers and leaves for the 3rd panel, wove in some of the ends, and sewed a couple together.

Knitting:

I all but finished knitting the 2nd end panel of the Octopus Garden Blanket by Georgia Vincent; I just need to finish binding off.

Finishing:

Finally, I sewed a bit more of the 2nd binding strip down to the back of Tech Support, a design by Linda Connors of Calico Crossroads®, adapted from the artwork of Kathleen Kelly of Kats by Kelly™.

Weekly Update

I had this written and ready to post on Wednesday, and then life got in the way. Anyway, here's what I had done as of 2 days ago.

Quilting:

Pam Buda of Heartspun Quilts has posted the last part of her sew-along, Orphans & Scraps.  To be honest, I don't really care for her setting, so I'm doing my own thing on this one. Here's what I have done so far:

I did some more work on Around the Town by Dawna Baker.

I finished rolling the edges on Batik Cascade (Batik Go-Round) by Karen Combs.  It's now ready to be quilted.

The last block in the block of the month has been posted, but I haven't done more than print it out and make a few notes.

Blackwork:

I've finished that square on the Blackwork Chessboard by Anne MacGregor.

Magly.

Crochet:

I finished the crocheting on the 3rd panel of the Morning Glory afghan designed by Michele Maks and made a good start on the embroidery. I did all the cross stitches and started on the lazy daisies.

Knitting:

I started knitting the 2nd end panel of the Octopus Garden Blanket by Georgia Vincent.

Finishing:

Finally, I started stitching the 2nd binding strip to the back of Tech Support, a design by Linda Connors of Calico Crossroads®, adapted from the artwork of Kathleen Kelly of Kats by Kelly™.
